It took:

In a bowl put flour, yeast, salt, sugar and vanilla sugar and mix, then add lard and eggs and knead a dough like plasticine. If the dough still requires, we add 2 tablespoons of milk, it depends a lot on the flour, I had to add the milk. Form a ball of the respective dough and let it cool until we prepare the filling.

Filling: We wash and clean the apples and put them on the large grater. In a double-bottomed pan, so that it doesn't stick, we put the apples, if they are too juicy, we squeeze them, but not very much. I didn't squeeze them because there was no need. Over the apples we add the sugar, I put 150 g, I prefer sweeter. Put the pan on the fire and stir continuously until it drops enough, and at the end add the cinnamon. Whoever wants can add other essences.

Take the ball of dough out of the fridge, divide it into 2 equal parts and spread 2 sheets a little bigger than the size of the tray, 22/28 cm. We place the first sheet (I also put baking paper in the tray) so that it comes a little on the walls of the tray, we prick it with a fork, we spread the filling evenly and on top we put the second sheet, which we also prick with fork. Put the tray in the preheated oven at 180 degrees, enough to brown a little on top, about 20-25 minutes, depending on each oven.

Remove the pie from the oven, let it cool a bit and powder it with sugar. I couldn't wait for it to cool down, so I cut it hot. It's delicious!

8. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Cut it into equal portions and arrange it on a plate. If desired, sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Baking time may vary depending on the oven, so we do the toothpick test. Insert a toothpick in the middle of the dough and check if the cake is baked. If there are traces of dough on the toothpicks when we take it out, it means that the cake is not baked enough.

On the other hand, if the toothpick comes out clean, it means that the apple cake is ready and can be taken out of the oven. Let the cake cool.
