The chocolate bread it is a real bread, not a brioche as it does not contain milk, butter or eggs in the dough. Do not expect, therefore, a sort of large pangocciolo in a black version. It is a sort of evolution of the snacks of the past: you know when the grandmother cut you a nice thick slice of peasant bread to eat with a few squares of dark chocolate? There! I put the chocolate directly into the bread, and the result is a unique goodness! Eat it for breakfast, soaked in milk ... eat it for a snack, sprinkled with a veil of raspberry jam ... or savor it like this, in its simplicity, because sometimes simple things are the best;)


How to make chocolate bread

First, mix flour, cocoa and sugar in a large bowl.
Put the crumbled yeast in the center, then add the water and oil and start mixing.
Finally, add the salt and the chocolate chips.

Once you have a smooth and homogeneous dough, cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it rise for about 2 hours or until the dough has doubled.

Once it has at least doubled, resume the dough, deflate it, knead it for a few minutes, then form the loaf and let it rise for at least 30 minutes on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush with the beaten egg yolk, then cook for about 40 minutes in a convection oven preheated to 190 ° C.

Let the chocolate bread cool completely before serving it, if you can, or if not, eat it hot and fragrant, fresh from the oven!
